Director of Business Development

Edilytics is hiring a Director of Business Development to assist in its mission to advance genome editing analysis. Our main product is CRISPResso, a genome editing quantification suite of software tools that measures genome editing outcomes from next-generation sequencing. CRISPResso is the gold standard in both academia and industry. This is your chance to influence thousands of scientists by driving the advancement of the genome editing community and playing a pivotal role in the creation of the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics.

This position will identify new commercial partners using digital outreach methods, as well as networking in-person. They will also help support our clients with troubleshooting and data analysis, and ensure customer satisfaction.

What does this role entail?

Success in this role looks like:

  • Prospecting and talking with potential customers.
  • Attending conferences to represent Edilytics.
  • Increasing the collective genome editing domain knowledge of the team.
  • Supporting existing customers with understanding and using CRISPResso.
  • Contributing to documentation, communication/newsletters, branding, and other aspects of the company.

This role will be compensated with a competitive base salary, and commissions on the first and second year sales.

Who is Edilytics?

Edilytics is a hybrid company (mainly remote) with a team based in Utah. There are 3 full time software developers that work on CRISPResso and an executive team. CRISPResso is open-source software designed by researchers at Harvard that has over 1,470 citations between the two papers. CRISPResso is available free for academic use, and requires a license for commercial use. Commercial CRISPResso users range from startup biotechs to large multinational pharmaceuticals. Who are you?

  • Graduate level genome editing experience (MS or PhD in Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Chemical Biology or other related field). 5+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
  • An independent worker, self-motivated.
  • Familiar with the properties of different nucleases, genome editing experimental design/best practices, and recommendations for CRISPResso parameter values across several CRISPR systems.
  • Eager to talk with current and potential customers.
  • Seasoned CRISPResso user.
  • Computational Biologist or Molecular Biologist with Genome Editing experience.
